Leeds Galaxy retained the Yorkshire League regional championships for a fourth year after wins against Headingley and Leeds Galaxy. Round two of matches provided all teams the chance to field inexperienced players for development.
Despite the final result, Headingley Outlaws produced some solid performances with the club's youngsters, Matthew Chartres-lock and James Hallett, continuing to impress and build on their first few months playing tchoukball.
Leeds Cosmos were also in the same position as new players Ricardo Stone and Jack Snell gained much needed game time to aid their development.
It was, however, Leeds Galaxy who produced two wins on the bounce to remain in pole position and head the table going into round three. The final round provided no shocks as Leeds Galaxy, with the aid of experienced players Hannah Norman, Alex Clarke and Jack Cunnington, continued their winning ways with wins over Leeds Cosmos and Headingley Outlaws respectively.
Leeds Cosmos produced the display of the round as the ever improving Nick Hahn tore through the Outlaws defence showing great improvement as a shooter.
Headingley Outlaws continued to field development players during the round and coach Pete King said he was pleased with the performances of Leanne Bailey, debutante Rebecca Edwards and Sam Cresswell, as they were able to have more practice in new positions.
After the tournament King said:
"Congratulations goes to Leeds Galaxy as they retain the Yorkshire Trophy for a fourth year running, as a great year within Yorkshire Tchoukball comes to end."
