National League Round 1Guildford remain top of the Tchoukball UK Super League after another two wins to extend their unbeaten run. Guildford Inferno now have four wins from four after victories against Bury Saints and Headingley Outlaws, while the club’s second team Ignite also won their third and fourth games of the season to match their club mates record for the season. Both Guildford sides remain top of their respective divisions after continuing their unbeaten starts, despite last minute changes leaving Inferno a player down.

They defeated Bury Saints 75-40 and Headingley Outlaws 81-33 respectively.

The division’s other unbeaten side Fareham Rhinos did not have any fixtures and can climb to the top of the table with comprehensive wins in their games-in-hand.

Saints almost pulled off a shock result against Portsmouth Drakes. Leading for large parts of the game, the Super League novices were edged out 62-61 by Drakes.

Portsmouth sit third in the table behind Bury Kings who they lost to in their other fixture.

Drakes called on the experience of left shooter Liam Green, who was returning from injury, but Kings proved too strong, winning 77-56.

Bury also beat Leeds Galaxy 63-53 to cement their second-placed position.

Leeds now sit fourth in the table after a 68-37 win against Headingley in their other fixture of the day.

In fifth are Fareham, followed by Bury Saints and Headingley, who are separated by goal difference.

In the first division, as well as their 69-49 win over Wolves, Ignite also defeated Portsmouth Uni Pingus (67-23) as they continue to march towards promotion.

Wolves remain in second after the defeat, given the points in the fixture against Portsmouth Ducks after the side failed to field a team.

Portsmouth Uni Pythons sit on the same number of points as Wolves after wins against fellow university side Portsmouth Uni Pingus (66-20) and Leeds Cosmos (63-42) respectively.

Cosmos also benefitted from an abandoned fixture against Ducks to sit in fourth, Ducks now lying bottom of the table.

Below Cosmos is Southampton Stags who have two matches in hand, while Pingus sit sixth, still looking for their first win since entering the national league.
