National League Round 4 roundupGuildford Tchoukball Club remains on course for double title success as both the club’s first team Inferno and second-string Ignite sit on top of their respective divisions after Round 3 and Round 4 of the Tchoukball UK National League.

Inferno were pushed hard by Leeds Galaxy in their 55-50 win, before defeating Bury Saints 53-43, ensuring Saints picked up an all-important bonus point as they battle against relegation.

In Round 4 Inferno produced a dominant performance to win 75-25 against Portsmouth Drakes, before securing an important win against third-placed Fareham Rhinos 55-62. They sit top of the Super League on 32 points.

Bury Kings also went through Rounds 3and 4 with four wins from four to retain their second-placed position on 30 points.

In this run there were victories against Fareham (64-61), Leeds Galaxy (55-50) and two wins against Headingley Outlaws; 71-25 and 82-34 respectively.

Leeds sit in third with 21 points. As well as losses to Guildford Inferno and Bury Kings, they lost a close fixture against Fareham 61-57. However, a strong performance against Bury Saints resulted in a 65-51 win.

Fareham have two games in hand over Leeds and sit only a point behind in fourth.

As well as the victory against Leeds and losses to Bury Kings and Guildford, they defeated Portsmouth Drakes 79-38.

Bury Saints eased any relegation fears after a run of two wins and two bonus point losses to move up to fifth on 17 points.

Their two wins came against fellow promoted side Headingley; 56-37 and 55-49 respectively.

Drakes also have two games in hand and sit on 14 points after their losses against Fareham and Guildford, with Headingley bottom on 10 points.

Guildford Ignite continued their unbeaten season with wins against Leeds Cosmos (55-46), Bury Wolves (74-47) and Southampton Stags (55-41) to take a big step towards promotion to the Super League.

Ignite are top of Division One with 28 points and a game in hand.

Bury Wolves moved up to second position with 27 points despite their loss to Ignite. They beat Southampton Stags 49-46 and Portsmouth Uni Pingus 63-42.

Their most important win was against Portsmouth Uni Pythons (60-52), leapfrogging their opponents.

Pythons have 26 points in third having also lost to Leeds Cosmos in round 4.

Before that they had only lost once all season, including wins against Pingus (59-23) and Ducks 58-55 in Round 3.

Leeds are in fourth on 24 points having added a win against Pingus (57-34) and a draw against Southampton Stags (48-48) to their results against Guildford and Pythons.

Southampton have two games in hand in fifth on 16 points.

In Round Four they beat Portsmouth Ducks 50-30 before their loss to Ignite.

Ducks also have a game in hand and sit level on points with Pingus on eight points, Ducks having beaten Pingus in Round 3 68-36.
