Guildford Inferno in actionAnother inspirational comeback and a resulting jump up the league table left Guildford Inferno’s players feeling positive after week 3 of the Tchoukball UK national league. Guildford climbed to second in the Super 7s, defeating Leeds Galaxy before coming back from behind to snatch another victory from Portsmouth Drakes for the second time in succession.

Bury Kings remain top of the league after wins against Portsmouth and Farnborough Jets. Bury’s points tally was boosted by facing a heavily weakened Farnborough side. Leeds dropped to third after their defeat to Guildford but did secure victory against Fareham Rhinos, who themselves grabbed a first win of the season. Again it was the weakened Farnborough side who suffered in a bottom of the table clash that left them a point below Fareham who have two games in hand.

In Division 1 Broadland Bolts continued their unbeaten streak with two more victories to sit two points clear at the top of the table. The big movers were Bury Saints who, fresh from securing their first ever win in the division, won their matches against Innov8 Marlborough and Leeds Cosmos to move up to fifth, level on points with third place Portsmouth Ducks. Southampton Elks stay second after two more wins, this time defeating rivals Portsmouth Uni Pythons and Headingley Outlaws. Third-place Portsmouth Ducks also beat Headingley but lost to Leeds Cosmos who now sit level with them on points in fourth. Portsmouth Uni dropped to sixth after their losses to Broadlands and Southampton, sitting three points above Headingley in seventh and eight points above Innov8 in eighth.
