Bury Saints have gone straight to the top of the East of England Regional League after wins against Broadland Bolts and Cromer.

Cromer, in their first competition, took on Bolts in the opening game, Bolts ending 59-32 winners.

The side improved throughout the match, going in confident against Bury.

Despite a vast improvement in their short time on court, the movement of the young Saints side was too much for Cromer, with Bury winning 66-31.

The final game between Bolts and Saints was a tight affair for the first third.

Bury, starting with a line-up with all but two players aged under 16, led for the majority of the third, going into the break just a point down.

Bury then brought on three senior players, steadily moving away from Broadlands.

In the final third Bolts made too many errors, allowing Bury to secure a comfortable 58-44 win, ensuring top spot for one of the club's three teams.

Bury Kings and Wolves will enter the competition in the next round of fixtures.
